my dream shoes

one night, i literally dreamed of getting this pair of crazily beauutiful givenchy sandals, and trying them on (mine were black, suprisingly). and guess what? they were unexpectedly comfortable (..in my dream..)! lol. anyway, these sandals with tooth-inspired embellishments are definitely my most-wanted shoes for ss12 (we don't talk about the price, ok?).. and ss12 is almost over!

preen resort 2013

did i tell you that i have my favorite 3ps? phillip lim, preen and proenza schouler. coming to resort 2013, i have to say that 3.1 phillip lim and proenza schouler have lost their wow factor in their latest collection. whereas preen is a total surprise. i still remember how pretty preen dresses are. hard to wear. expensive. but extremely beautiful. when i first saw the resort collection, i wasn't sure if i like it or not because it's so not preen to me haha! but, i like it more and more now. i love the blossoms i love the bold colors, the cut the shape the material. and i have to admit that i get influenced easily by the mood of the settings, the background, etc. having nice background and photography that suit my taste definitely gives it bonus points! when will i own my first preen dress?

do you have fun in your life? i have a pretty complex personality. people who don't know me at all think i'm quiet. or cold. or unfriendly. or boring. people who know me think that i'm silly. fun. maybe crazy sometimes. people who know me too well know that i'm actually a pretty quiet and private person, not so talkative. i love to be alone sometimes but i'm afraid to be alone at the same time. but i always feel like there's this energy or silliness or craziness that i wanna let out.. it just depends on whom i'm hanging out with.. after watching this video of rebecca minkoff and hilary rhoda having so much fun at work (think they're preparing for cfda), singing and dancing to 'call me maybe', reminds me of how much fun we could have in our daily lives.

the only person who would dance and sing to spice girls songs with me. is my roommate in paris. the person who shared a tiny room with me but still we had so much fun. i miss you girl :')

happy 50th cfda

50 years of cfda. 50 years of glamorous people and clothes! so? the olsen twins of the row beat out marc jacobs and proenza schouler, and got the womenswear designer of the year. hmmmm. i hv no idea. ashley and mary-kate are talented and they have style, i don't doubt that. but somehow i'm not quite sure if the row is super over-priced. phillip lim, one of my favorite designers, got the swarovski award for menwear! yay! i <3 phillip lim!!

okay. among the many gorgeous people at the award ceremony, i would say these people really caught my eyes.

i've always love ashley more. but it's mary-kate's brunette hair tonight that caught my attention, tho i need more time to get used to it

kate bosworth. kate bosworth. one of my favorite style icons. she looked fresh and chic in this altuzzara dress. kate bosworth basically makes everything look stylish on her. i love seeing her both on red carpets and on the street. just love her

i have been a jessica stam fan since 4-5 years ago. it's sad to see her less in recent years. the jason wu dress looked nice, but i think her hair is a bit too much for me. i still prefer her in blond

seems like the peplum trend is gonna last for some while. devon aoki looked chic and elegant in this alice + olivia dress. at the first sight i didn't really like the print. but i think devon aoki nailed it!

last but not least. michelle harper in custom christian cota. i never had good feelings for her. maybe i'm conservative but i don't like people who dress up weird. i like people who have good sense of style, but not the ones who love to put too much stuff on themselves. she's just too crazy (or fun) for me. and this outfit and hair and make-up?? no offense. but i was super shocked when i saw this. and she said she wanted to be even more naked. hmmm

timeless beauty

i was in shanghai this previous weekend. somehow i feel like there are more creative exhibitions and events going on in shanghai than in hong kong. or maybe there are a lot in hong kong but i just don't bother to go visit because i'm lazy lol. i went to this van cleef & arpels exhibit: timeless beauty. not a big fan of jewels but van cleef & arpels? definitely worth seeing! and the exhibition turned out to be really amazing.


first i have to say that the interior design by Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, from the Jouin Manku Design Agency was very impressive. They created a dreamlike 2-floor space so sensual and elegant that people who didn't know much about v.c.a. would quickly get the sense of it.

370 pcs of jewels and accessories were exhibited. v.c.a has indeed created a lot of timeless arts & crafts pcs. at the exhibit we could see how amazing their designs and craftsmanship have been, since 1906. i took some pictures but plz forgive me, i forgot to bring a proper camera and i had to take the pictures with my iphone :/ my bf told me if i wanna be serious about blogging, i should carry around with me a 'proper' camera, which is true!

The exhibit will run until July 15 at Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art. So if you happen to be in Shanghai, I would suggest you to go and enjoy the exhibit. It's definitely worth going! Last but not least, the following video would give you a preview of the exhibit. Enjoy!
