happy birthday to avotrefashion!

can't imagine it's been one year since i first started my blog!!!! weeeheeeee!!! i'd been wanting to have my own blog for a longg time but i didnt have the motivation to really do it, until my bf kind of 'made' me start one haha (thanks to bao!) the reason why i wanna have my own blog, i guess most other bloggers would agree, is that i want to share with the readers what i love and how i feel! to be honest, it would be even cooler if i do hear from you as i have absolutely no comments for the moment omg lol.. but seeing that my blog has been gaining a steady growth in traffic, i'm grateful.. and i do think it's the best decision i've ever made :> i have to admit that i get lazy to update at times, but traffic (or comments) is the best motivation for me to continue writing!! it just gives me so much satisfaction that i can't find elsewhere! so.. thanks for those who have been coming once in a while, and pls pls pls share with me what you think, let it be something positive and negative :)

since it's the one-year anniversary of my blog.. i decided to post something that i've always wanted to post about.. but not having the courage to do so >< hello hello... here comes my selfie (i'm calling it "a selfie a day" :D) although i still don't feel like showing my face yet :P this was my working outfit today *_* don't ask me what the flowers are doing there... i have no idea :D

i-cook

i've picked up a new 'hobby' lately: i love to prepare my own food/drinks (let it be fruit juices or cocktails ahem..)! anyway i feel like i can share with you all what i've 'experimented' somehow.. i can tell you i seriously am a terrible cook.. i never really had to prepare my own food as i never went studying abroad and i'm l-a-z-y! but recently i've found so much fun preparing stuff by myself :> despite the fact that i've been giving myself so many small cuts and burns :P

it's a gloomy day today, and i got up craving for a good juice/smoothie/milkshake.. i saw papaya in the fridge so i decided to try making my own papaya milk! i know it's EASY.. but i still feel good to see the outcome yay! apart from papaya and milk (obviously), i blended in some ice and bits of apples to give a sweeter taste. easy healthy and yummy <3 i'm happy now!

i know this is not really cooking, but going forward i'm gonna put everything i prepared under i-cook haha! stay tuned!!

being tired of the typical kind of gowns you would expect from the red carpet, i'm really impressed by this beautiful creation of dolce & gabbana, worn by indian actress sonam kapoor at the cannes festival 2013. maybe cuz i have a thing for floral prints and flowers in general, image of this dress has been stuck in my head that i feel like i have to post about it. of course, not everyone has sonam's grace and beauty to nail this dress. not too much of jewels and make up, bringing the whole look to perfection with a bit of drama. i like :>

sorrrrrry! i know i said that i would have a new post last weekend :[ i meant to post about my nail color but i had to postpone my manipedi appointment because of these..... my very first pair of jimmy choo's yayyy! there was this private sale going on last weekend and i got them at almost 75% off! i wanted to get them in nude instead, but the only pair left in my size (i'm a size 38!) had 1 shoe turned yellow :S so i had to give them up! lucky that they had black in my size!! not bad.. woot woot!!

a decent black bag

a decent black bag is just like a little black dress. every girl should own one (blah blah..) i've been craving for a black bag since years ago!! as i said before i'm more of a shoe-shopper than a bag-shopper, and the only designer bag i've ever bought (excluding few presents and bags i share with my mom haha) is balenciaga's motorcycle bag - my first ever i-want-it-so-much bag haha! ok so it's time to move on lol.. when the 'right time' has come, i'll go get it! but which bag to get?!! i dunno what do you think?!! (sigh.. i don't understand why bags are getting pricier and pricier ><)

best buy of the day

feel like i have nothing special to post about, except best buy of the day. is it because there's nothing much special going on lately? or is it because i've already lost my interest? i'm not sure.. but i'm gonna have 2 posts today :> and i know that i'll have another post later this week.. stay tuned!!

i'm glad that my bf and i have quite different tastes. i'm more into quirky, weird, 'special' stuff; he always prefers classic and timeless pieces. he's always able to pull me back a bit and i guess we have quite a good balance haha!

so he got me this pair of sunglasses lately. i tried on so many pairs of sunglasses that day and received so many 'no's from him. finally, we have 'compromised' on these and i'm really happy! because i didn't have any sunglasses in black.. sort of! thanks bao! and of course, i also got the ring and earrings below from house of harlow <3 hey it's renovation sale hallelujah!
